Bums on Seats is a comedy that revolves around a provincial theatre's production of a new play called "Fecund", a strange and off the wall offering that focuses on a rather chaotic birth.
Staged in two halves, firstly from the theatre company's point of view and secondly from the auditorium, where we meet the audience, we are introduced to a wide range of characters, each with their own very distinct personalities.
The play is a series of hilarious scenes that are linked by three usherettes, who come on and introduce the various scenes.
The acting roles are a series of cameos and tend to be split between the first and second acts, so not everyone appears in both acts. One or two of the parts are smallish and so some doubling up would be possible if needs be.
Apart from the roles listed, members of the cast will also be used as extras, playing operating theatre staff, Audience Members etc.
