SADC stages the widest range of theatre and from time to time this includes Shakespeare. Our two most recent productions have been The Merry Wives of Windsor, and The Tempest. I am delighted to have the opportunity to add Twelfth Night to our repertoire; a play which, in my judgment, has everything. The script contains some of Shakespeare’s finest lyrical verse but the plot also embraces gender confusion, romantic entanglements and a great deal of comedy, which never loses its appeal to amuse. I shall stage this production as close to the original as possible. As such, Twelfth Night has the capacity to provide both immense entertainment to an audience and satisfying opportunities for its cast.
